The Mill.

Vertically integrated. Fifty years in Karur.
Everything made under one roof.

Founded 1974

Started with a loom. Built into a mill.

In 1974, N. R. Venkataachalam established Asian Fabricx in Karur — a city whose weaving tradition runs as deep as the Amaravathi river that flows through it.

What began as a manufacturing unit has grown into a fully integrated campus at Manmangalam, Semmadai. Today the Managing Director, V. Ashok Ram Kumar, runs weaving, wet processing and finished-goods manufacturing as a single operation — under one roof, with one quality standard.

Karur accounts for a significant share of India’s home textile exports. Asian Fabricx has been part of that story since 1974 — supplying buyers in Europe, North America, the Middle East and beyond.

Why it matters

Vertical integration.

When weaving, wet processing and manufacturing are all in-house, quality does not depend on a third party. Lead time is predictable. Specification changes are absorbed without re-negotiation.

01 Weaving

Yarn goes on the loom in-house. Thread count, weave structure and width are set to your specification — not to a stock programme. Changes are made at the beam, not after finishing.

02 Wet processing

Dyeing, printing and finishing happen on-campus. Colour fastness is checked internally before the fabric reaches the cutting table — no transport between factories, no colour shift risk.

03 Manufacturing & packing

Cutting, stitching, header attachment and retail packing are done in the same facility. Inspection happens before goods leave the building — not at a third-party audit house weeks later.

04 Renewable energy

Solar panels and windmills supply part of the production energy. Water management programmes are in place across the wet-processing stages — responsible manufacturing, not just compliant.
